Introducing Grassroots Carbon

Written by Nick Honegger | May 5, 2021 4:41:34 PM

With the big news about Grassroots Carbon, we have gotten quite a few questions on what this means for PastureMap and what our ranchers need to do in order to qualify for our new programs.

First Things First:

In case you missed our big news, PastureMap merged with Soil Value Exchange to form a new company: Grassroots Carbon.  The new company instantly provides scalable, measured, and certified soil carbon storage solutions to companies who want to reduce their carbon footprint. The new company combines access to regenerative landowners, value generating rotational grazing software, a soil carbon mapping data solution, with the delivery of proven and independently certified carbon credits. Grassroots Carbon will pay landowners who capture and store atmospheric carbon in their healthy soils. This means we can start rewarding landowners on PastureMap for all the carbon their regenerative practices are storing. For specific details on how to participate check out our Ranchers page on the Grassroots Carbon site.

What's Next For PastureMap?

PastureMap isn't going anywhere!
While we merged teams, the PastureMap software is here to stay and will continue to operate as PastureMap for the foreseeable future. The merger will allow us to continue what we do best, supporting and helping ranchers implement and manage regenerative land practices. You will be able to keep using PastureMap regardless of involvement with Grassroots Carbon given the financial benefits, I highly encourage you to check out Grassroots plus it is FREE to get started.

In the coming months, you will see an increase in new features and app updates to help better serve both our PastureMap users and those participating in the Grassroots Carbon programs. Our goal is to provide ranchers with new methods to make sure they are getting the most out of their land while providing access to a more robust set of tools to help validate their practices.

How Do I Participate?

If you want to get more information on the program simply signup via the Grassroots Carbon site and someone from our team will be in contact to walk you through the program and how it works. If you just want to learn more about the process check out the Grassroots Carbon blog as we will be releasing a rolling FAQ series in the coming month. The key first step is to make sure you are leveraging PastureMap for data collection and continuing to be a great steward for your land, we help you with the rest.

I hope you are as excited as we are for this monumental step for PastureMap in our journey to help reward ranchers. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at: support@pasturemap.com.
